Canon introduces the first V-series mirrorless camera to feature a 32.5MP full-frame sensor, the Canon EOS R6 V, designed for visual storytellers seeking exceptional image quality and advanced video-focused functionality. Combining a streamlined body with in-body image stabilization and Canon’s intelligent autofocus system, this camera is built to support both solo creators and professional productions. With support for 7K RAW recording, wide dynamic range, active cooling, and a variety of cinema-oriented features, the camera delivers reliable performance in demanding shooting environments. A rotating user interface and multiple tripod mounting points further enhance flexibility for both horizontal and vertical shooting configurations.

32.5MP Full-Frame Sensor and DIGIC X Processor

At the heart of the EOS R6 V is a newly developed 32.5MP full-frame CMOS sensor paired with Canon’s DIGIC X image processor, delivering sharp detail, low-noise performance, and impressive color accuracy across a wide range of recording formats. The sensor’s 6960 x 4640 resolution enables internal 7K RAW recording and oversampled 7K-to-4K video capture for enhanced detail and image quality. The camera offers a native ISO range of 100–64,000, expandable to ISO 50–102,400, providing reliable performance in various lighting conditions. Canon Log 2 recording also delivers up to 15+ stops of dynamic range for greater flexibility during color grading and post-production workflows.

7K RAW Video Recording

Built to support demanding production workflows, the EOS R6 V offers an extensive selection of recording formats and resolutions for professional filmmaking and content creation. Internal 7K30 open-gate RAW and 7K60 RAW Light recording preserve exceptional detail and rich 12-bit color, providing greater flexibility for reframing, cropping, and advanced color grading during post-production.

Creators can quickly switch between Canon Log 2, Canon Log 3, HLG, PQ, Canon 709, BT.709, and additional custom profiles using the dedicated color mode button. For slow-motion capture, the camera supports recording speeds up to 4K120 and 2K180, making it suitable for cinematic sequences and fast-action footage.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II

Canon equips the EOS R6 V with its advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system, delivering fast and accurate autofocus performance for both still photography and video recording. The intelligent phase-detection system is capable of recognizing and tracking people, animals, and vehicles with impressive precision, even in dynamic shooting environments. Additional autofocus tools further enhance usability, including Eye Detect AF, Touch AF, focus peaking, and customizable Movie Servo AF controls for smoother cinematic focus transitions. Coordinated Image Stabilization

The EOS R6 V features Coordinated Image Stabilization, combining its built-in In-Body Image Stabilizer (IBIS) with optical image stabilization found in compatible Canon RF and RF-S lenses. Together, the system delivers up to 7.5 stops of shake correction for smoother handheld footage and sharper still images. Movie Digital IS is also included, utilizing five-axis digital stabilization to further reduce camera shake during handheld video recording.
